Sandy Garnett was born at Fort Belvoir, Virginia in 1970 and raised in London and Connecticut. He is a self-taught artist and has been a professional painter and sculptor since graduation from St. Lawrence University in 1992. The artist has recorded over 1.5 million USD in career art sales.
In the summer of 2005 Garnett showed with Rebecca Hossack Galleries in London and was represented in Art London at Burton's Court. He has had solo exhibitions at Palet Gallery in New York City, the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the Rosenthal Gallery at the Rich Forum and Sackler Galleries in Stamford, Connecticut. He has participated in numerous regional group shows in the past decade.
The art of Mr. Garnett has been placed in museum, public, corporate, and private collections, including the GM Museum, Pepsico, Chevrolet, Corcoran Jennison, St. Lawrence University, and the Town of Stamford, CT. In 2001 The New York Times declared his Fingerprint Project 'Cutting Edge Art'. His work has been displayed and reviewed by The New York Times, The New York Art World, Gallery Guide, The Hartford Courant, Interior Design, Greenwich Magazine, The Stamford Advocate, Connecticut Cottages and Gardens.
Garnett has represented himself for over a decade. He has painted 885 paintings since 1991. Since 2000 the artist has painted 350 paintings, 280 of which have sold directly from his studio to private collections. This explains the artist's slim show history in the past several years.
Garnett is interested in developing business relations with an established New York City gallery which is interested in taking the artist to new markets. Collectors, agents and brokers who are instrumental in finding the suitable match will be rewarded a commission and/or original art.
Garnett recently bought and renovated two studios in Connecticut where he lives and works when not painting in his Manhattan studio.
