Ellen Gordon has been working on large format figurative collages for the past several years.  While her work is inspired by her drawings from private sessions with her model, Bobbie Golden, it speaks more about the creative magic that happens when inspiration and form collide.  The artwork itself is the result of a searching process – finding the shapes and lines in the figure and composition.

Ellen Gordon’s art training is from the Greenwich Art Society , Silvermine Arts Guild and the Rowayton Arts Center.  Additonally she holds an undergraduate degree from Boston University and a master’s degree from Baruch College, NYC.  She has exhibited regionally and is the recipient of many awards, including Best in Show in the 2013 96th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Bendheim Gallery of the Greenwich Arts Center, the 2009 National Faber Birren Color Award Exhibition at the Stamford Art Society as well as the George W. McClellan Award for Watercolor from the Greenwich Arts Society at the Flinn Gallery in 2011.

She is the current president of the Loft Artists Association.
