The LAA was established in 1978 as a volunteer tenant art association to create mutually beneficial ties between the creative individual and the community. It was incorporated in 1986 as a 501c3.  For almost thirty years the LAA has produced an annual Open Studios, arranged for studio tours with schools, produced performance and lecture series, exhibited in various venues throughout Stamford.  The membership to date has 25 studio members and 26 associate members.  Studio membership is closed until the group relocates to another facility in July 2007.
