Presenting the New Members Show, featuring artwork from five new members of the LAA. The show will present paintings, drawings, fabric arts, ceramics, and sculpture. "The show offers creative expression in such a wide variety of mediums," says show co-chairman Mark Macrides, whose works are inspired by concepts of time and space. "The LAA is remarkable for the diversity of work within its membership, and this new group of 5 very different artists remains true to that model." more

Holiday Show
November 13 - December 20, 2009
The LAA holiday show will run from Nov. 13 to Dec. 20, with a formal opening reception and gift bazaar on Friday, Dec. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. Twenty percent of all sales from the holiday show and gift bazaar will be donated to Stamford-based St. Luke's LifeWorks, a non-profit organization providing learning opportunities, housing and support services to people overcoming homelessness in lower Fairfield County.

The Loft Artists are exhibiting at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum in Norwalk, CT and the contrast between the bare bones industrial building at 845 Canal St that currently houses the Loft Artists and the rooms presently set aside at the for exhibits at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion could not be more dramatic.

The exhibit pokes fun at the foibles of suburban life. The Seven Deadly Sins, a religious concept dating back to the Middle Ages, takes on a modern twist with large oil paintings or drawings on brown paper with intriguing titles such as: "Envy: Loehman's Dressing Room," or "Lust: Male Strippers Appear in Darien." more
