Mindy Daly Green, a Connecticut artist, paints vibrant, energetic, and emotionally charged images. Her figurative as well as abstract works have an intimate yet otherworldly quality. It is the balancing of contrasts which keeps her passionate about art.
Green, with fifteen years of experience in commissioned portraiture, has a confident, intuitive sense of the proper size, background, tone, and pose for each of her subjects. Her style is non-traditional and expressive. In addition to capturing an uncanny likeness, she paints a deeper layer, aiming at the emotional essence of the person through a balance of strength and vulnerability.
Working closely with her clients, she conducts photo sessions and completes full scale drawings for approval. Using only the finest linen and oils, she constructs and completes her commissions within the specified timeframe, usually four months from the first photo shoot.
Her non-figurative work reveals a personal, imaginative world of symbols and shapes which explore contrasts: complexity and calmness, organic forms and architecture, or bright and muted color
Green has commissioned portraits and fine art paintings in homes and offices in the United States and England, shows regularly around Fairfield County and has won numerous awards for her paintings, photography, and mixed media works.
